The National Association of Business Owners and Entrepreneurs was founded by Ronald K. Wills, an an entrepreneur, intrapreneur and small-to-medium size business specialist. Mr. Wills, a diehard Washingtonian, was born at Washington General and grew up in Bethesda, Maryland were he attended High School at St. John’s College High School in the District and undergrad and grad school at the University of Maryland. Mr. Wills has spent a lifetime building business relationships in the region and throughout the country.  With 20+ years in banking and commercial real estate industries, Mr. Wills has had a lifetime in evaluating business plans, financial forecasts and business growth for owners and entrepreneurs. Today, Mr. Wills serves on the executive management team of the fast growing HarVest Bank of Maryland.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Wills has founded three exclusive business owner and entrepreneur organizations and today leads the National Association of Business Owners and Entrepreneurs as Founder and Executive Director. Previously, Mr. Wills ran Homestead Capital, a highly successful commercial real estate firm and Small Business Technology, Inc. (SBTech), a technology company with emphasis on developing cost effective solutions for small to medium sized businesses. Mr. Wills respects and admires the entrepreneurial spirit in our community and celebrates its successes in The Entrepreneurs Group series he runs featuring local and regional entrepreneurs talking about their stories, trials and tribulations.

As an intrapreneur, Mr. Wills spends his days working as a member of the executive management team of the fastest growing bank in the region, HarVest Bank of Maryland. Led by Jack Hollerbach, President and Founder, HarVest Bank through Jack’s leadership proves the old adage that “if you build a better mousetrap people will beat a path to your doorstep.” Previously, he has used his skills to help turnaround a 150 year old institution, from the brink of failure to one of the most successful in the region. In addition, he has worked with the top leaders in the finance, real estate and technology industries including Charles M. Cawley the founder and previous president and chairman of MBNA in Delaware.

As a small-to-medium sized business expert, Mr. Wills evaluates hundred of business plans as a senior level lender for HarVest Bank of Maryland. Every day proposals are submitted and reviewed for quality, realism and financial practicality. With his ongoing review and analysis, Mr. Wills has seen in excess of 2,000 business plans in his lifetime. A frequent lecturer on Strategic Planning, Marketing, Sales Management and Growth for the business community, Mr. Wills is well positioned to present from experience, the best ways to grow a small business to the next level.

Mr. Wills spent 8 years in the non-profit world where he developed and refined his unique ability to bring large communities together for a common goal. An unabashed advocate of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, Mr. Wills has become a tireless advocate of supporting our emerging companies in the region. The National Association of Business Owners and Entrepreneurs is the third successful business owner and entrepreneurial exclusive membership group founded by Mr. Wills in the past 10 years. In each of these companies one thing is central - provide a relaxed environment that business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals feel comfortable in attending and provide the right mix of attendees to make the event worthwhile and profitable for each attendee.
